A bike journey through unique landscapes, lagoons and reclaimed lands, discovering Brussa and Vallevecchia—two natural gems of Eastern Veneto. Starting from the charming hamlet of Ca’Corniani, this itinerary will take you along routes immersed in nature, with the thrill of crossing the lagoon on a traditional ferry, for a day of history, traditions and biodiversity.
Departure from Ca’Corniani, a historic agricultural estate near Caorle, taking the cycle path that runs alongside cultivated fields, passes behind the power plant and reaches the Ponte delle Bilance. Continue towards Caorle, Falconera area.
At the boarding point, a short ferry crossing will take you to the other side of the lagoon, where the scent of sea air and the flight of birds will welcome you. The ferry is not only convenient, but also a charming experience: “Slow and steady wins the race,” as the popular saying goes—it fits perfectly here.
Once ashore, continue towards Brussa, an area of rare beauty and biodiversity. The cycle paths wind through pinewoods, dunes and wild beaches—ideal for a restorative stop or a picnic in the shade of maritime pines. Don’t miss a visit to the nature oasis, where you can spot herons, little egrets and, with a bit of luck, the marsh harrier.
Continuing towards Vallevecchia, you enter one of the most protected areas of the Adriatic coast. Here nature reigns supreme: canals, ponds and wet meadows host rich fauna and flora. It’s recommended to stop at the Environmental Education Centre to learn more about this ecosystem and discover local traditions linked to fishing and agriculture.
After exploring Vallevecchia, the cycle route leads back to Ca’Corniani, closing a perfect loop for bike and nature lovers. Before you set off, remember to check the ferry timetable! This tour is suitable for everyone, including families, and offers genuine emotions—just as the land of Veneto knows how to do.
Bring a camera: biodiversity will reward you with unforgettable shots!
