Ca’ Corniani between art and land reclamation

Ca’Corniani: The Slow Rhythm of Reclaimed Land

There’s a place where the land breathes together with art. Cycling in Ca’ Corniani is like slipping into a painting: white roads cutting the horizon, the sound of wind through the wheat, and those sculptures that seem placed there to stand guard over time. Here land reclamation isn’t just history—it’s pure beauty.

Imagine getting lost among the colours and scents of the Veneto countryside, where every pedal stroke is a journey through time and beauty. The Ca’ Corniani Estate, just a short distance from Caorle, welcomes you with an immersive experience that blends nature, history and culture in a unique embrace.
Let yourself be guided along paths that cross golden fields, neat rows and sparkling canals. Every turn offers breathtaking views and unexpected encounters with contemporary artworks, created to enhance the magic of this timeless place. Three entrances, three works of art: statues of dogs and horses standing silent guard, a luminous writing that dances with lightning, a golden roof shining like a promise of wonder. In 2017, when the Ca’ Corniani enhancement project was born, an international art competition was launched, won by Milanese artist Alberto Garutti—his artworks welcome anyone eager to discover this place.
Ca’ Corniani.
The beating heart of the Estate is the old pumping station, a jewel of 19th-century engineering. Here, within walls that tell of the transformation of marshland into fertile soil, you can feel the pulse of history and the human ingenuity that made this miracle possible. First built in 1880, it is an example of 19th-century industrial architecture. Here you can understand how the land reclamation system turned marshland into fertile cultivated fields, thanks to an ingenious hydraulic system. It can be reached from four different roads, all called “Macchina Fissa”, highlighting the importance of this building erected in the Quattro Camini area because, by centrality and predominance, it is the zone that best receives the waters from the various drainage channels across the whole estate.

Don’t miss the chance to visit the hamlet of Ca’ Corniani: a place where time seems to have stopped, between the old winery, the fields of memory and the villa that preserves the owners’ recollections from the past. Walk its streets and let yourself be wrapped in the authenticity of rural life.

In short

And to finish, raise a toast with a glass of local wine while admiring the photographs that tell stories of people, land and passion in the winery. An architectural gem, an example of the site’s avant-garde: since it could not be built underground—because the area lies below sea level—a series of chimneys were installed to capture cool breezes and recreate the microclimate suitable for wine production.
An experience that is not just a visit, but a true dive into the soul of the Veneto countryside.
